Prayer Team Ministry

The Prayer Ministry Team is a group of members of Shepherd of The Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church who have a passion for prayer and a willingness to be used by God for this servant ministry. They are responding to the need expressed by our church community to incorporate more prayer into our church as the Body of Christ. Our hope is to grow in our own prayer life and bless others by praying with them, in complete confidentiality, for their specific needs and praises.

As God leads this ministry, more people are encouraged to participate and learn with them what God desires for their future as a people of Christ Jesus. The Prayer Petition Tree, introduced on September 30, 2007, is an outward sign of the need to bring all of our concerns and praises to the Lord, trusting Him to always hear and answer our prayers. These petitions will not be read at any time and will be offered up in the Prayers of the Church each week by our Pastors. The Prayer Team will remove the unread petitions each week after the second service, pray over them and burn them symbolizing believers prayers ascending to God (Revelations 8:3-4).

Prayer and Healing Services will be held quarterly during our Worship Services. They will begin on September 30, 2007 and be scheduled when a fifth Sunday appears on the calendar. This service will be devoted to prayer. The Pastors will anoint the members of the congregation that wish to be anointed and two prayer stations will be available for those who wish to be prayed with for concerns and/or praises.

Isaiah 56:7 .....My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.
