Shepherd of the Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church

Operation Christmas Child

Shepherd of the Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church was once again a 2007 drop-off location for Operation Christmas Child.

Shepherd of the Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church collected shoeboxes from November 12-18, 2007.

Each weekday Shepherd of the Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church opened its doors Monday through Friday in the morning from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and then again in the evening from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Operation Christmas Child
Shepherd of the Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church also collected boxes during the weekend on both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

During this time volunteers accepted, logged, assembled and counted donations of shoeboxes.

In 2007, Shepherd of the Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church collected 1,273 shoeboxes during the 2007 project week. This was a large increase from the 544 shoeboxes that were collected in 2006. Dover Baptist Temple, Jay and Carol Herstine, Shane Offenberger, Bob and Jennifer Crone packed delivered the shoeboxes to The Chapel in Akron. Our boxes became part of the 17,537 boxes from the North Eastern Ohio Area. The shoeboxes will begin their global trek across the globe and end up in the hands a very deserving child.
